Moving to Enterprise was a no-brainer for me

Children's alphabet blocks spelling "no brainer"

I first came across Enterprise when I was working for Ernst & Young in external audit. As a fresh-faced first year, Enterprise was one of the first clients I was involved with from planning to year-end. The friendly atmosphere at Enterprise always stuck out to me and their attitude and strong values-driven culture, soon put Enterprise up there as my favourite client to work for. I spent the next three years on the audit team developing my skills until I was leading the audit of both the UK and Irish statutory accounts in my final year.

I always found the accounting at Enterprise interesting. I loved the philosophy of the decentralised run-your-own business mentality and the strong ethos of promotion from within. This, coupled with the friendly workplace environment, meant that once I was qualified as a Chartered Accountant and I saw a position came available, it was a no-brainer for me.

I started working as an Accounting Supervisor in the corporate head office. It was a great mix of managerial tasks, employee development, accounting, and other projects to really keep me engaged and excited for work each day. The level of exposure I have seen has been excellent and I have had the ability to develop a lot quicker than I would have in other companies. All the hard work paid off, as in true Enterprise style, and coinciding with my one year anniversary, I was promoted to Accounting Manager for the Southeast London group, the largest rental group in Europe.

My work in Southeast London has differed from the corporate office as I now have far more exposure to the revenue-generating part of our business, acting as a business partner to the rental department. The fast-paced nature of our business ensures that I am always kept on my toes.

What I have learned at Enterprise so far is that they really stand by their values. I can certainly say that by working hard I have seen my work rewarded. I enjoy coming into work as it really is a friendly and fun place and I would recommend it to anyone. I have already been promoted, and furthermore, I know what my future career will look like and what I need to do to achieve it. The help, advice and support offered from senior management is phenomenal. They don’t just say their doors are always open, they really do stand by it.

I often tell my friends that deciding to move to Enterprise was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and after my promotion, I feel like I can stand by that statement even more. It hasn’t been easy and there has been many a challenging day or a late night, but I wouldn’t change anything.
