A day in the life of a Marketing Specialist at Enterprise

Emma

A sneak peek into the diary of Emma Wade, Marketing Specialist for Enterprise Car Club, as she oversees the rebrand from City Car Club to Enterprise Car Club.

8am

The working day starts, although I always consciously try and get to the office a little early to get a headstart on emails which come overnight from our state side counterparts in St Louis, Missouri.

Today I will be working on various elements of the rebrand of City Car Club to Enterprise Car Club. Enterprise Holdings, parent company of Enterprise Car Club, acquired City Car Club in April 2015, and has since been operating City Car Club as part of the Enterprise CarShare network. A car club is a natural extension of the local car-rental service that Enterprise has pioneered in the UK over the last 20 years. The rebrand brings some exciting changes and an aligned and consistent brand.

9am

As the rebrand takes shape, it’s great to keep aligned with my line manager, Brand Director Leah Wilson, to go through progress on the communications plan and website copy. As the day of rebrand approaches we need to ensure that all our communications to members and external businesses are clear and concise and approved by all key internal stakeholders. The output of my catch up with Leah is to make a few minor amends to the plans and send out for final approvals.

10am

Quick green tea break (trying to keep it healthy) and I manage to catch up with the implementation team in the coffee hub.

11am

Briefing session with our media agency PHD for an awareness driving media plan to launch Enterprise Car Club in April. This will help to drive awareness of the new brand within our key city locations. As our marketing materials roll out across all consumer touch points, this along with the media plan will help to drive further awareness of the brand.

12pm

A monthly ritual, the Marcom team lunch. Giving us as a chance to regroup away from the office and catch up after pay day as a team. Today we are going to a team favourite, a small Italian restaurant on Egham high-street.

1pm

A quick check in call with Vicky Shipway, Head of Marketing based in our Leeds office, to discuss our newly rebranded ‘How It Works’ video. The video will sit as a key component on our new website which will help explain our easy to use service. The progress is great and the agency has been working hard to ensure the new branding pops out and all our messages are delivered.

2pm

A weekly conference call with all key stakeholders of rebrand which includes our internal UK marketing and implementation teams, the US Marcoms team and headed by Dan Gursel Head of City Car Club. All team members update on their relevant areas of the rebrand including my team on the communications and marketing materials.

3pm – 5pm

My chance to catch up on some emails that have accumulated during the day. It’s also a chance for me to catch up with Charlie, our in-house Graphic design artist who I have previously briefed to look at relevant imagery for our new website and the redesign of our member kits.

5pm

A quick wrap up on some meeting invites and emails and its home time!

Tonight the gym is calling.
